FACES OF 2005 Jan 1 2005

PAUL ENGLISH HAS HAD A CLOSE LOOK AT THE EMERGING TALENT ON OUR SHORES AND PICKS HIS TIPS TO BECOME MASSIVE NAMES IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY THIS YEAR…

UNKLE BOB – A brilliant multi-instrumental Scots band, who draw influence from the likes of Van Morrison and Tim Buckley,, Unkle Bob are due a breakthrough.

Lyrically smart, musically tight and not afraid to take chances live, this acoustic outfit’s profile has been steadily growing with exposure on Radio 1, Radio 2, Radio Scotland and Beat 106. Singer Rick Webster, pictured, and the band have slapped fly-posters on anything that takes glue in their hometown of Glasgow, and have won rave reviews with live shows at King Tuts,The Liquid Room and The Arches, where they’ve shown that they’ll pick up anything that makes a noise and play it.

They supported Dogs Die In Hot Cars in autumn last year and will see in 2005 with an Arts Council funded EP – - The Hit Parade – scheduled for release in February. Deserve to be your favourite Uncle by the end of 2005.
