Unkle Bob
It’s a perplexing irony that although i abhor coffee-shop folkies Turin Brakes I have a special place in my affections for Glasgow’s Unkle Bob, who operate in a not entirely seperate arena. Perhaps it is because Turin Brakes are insufferably MOR, while the Bob have a singer who sounds like Nick Drake whispering secrets into Ray Davies’ ear, plus they possess an enviable stash of country-folk heartbreakers.
Thundering cliche that it is, Unkle Bob really do look set for great things.
